About Essential Oils…
Essential Oils are a wonderful way to naturally enhance your daily lifestyle. They can be used to help ease many ailments, as a relaxation tool, to freshen a room and even in skin care, among many other uses. Here are a few things you need to know.
1.Never use essential oils undiluted (neat). Always use with a carrier oil when using on your skin.
2.Never take essential oils internally unless under the care of a medical Doctor or certified Aroma-therapist.
3.Less is more. Always start out with a small amount of essential oils and slowly add from there.
4.Know your oils. Research all you can about the therapeutic properties and safe use of essential oils.
Some suggested uses*:
1.In the bath—add 2-4 drops of your favorite essential oil. For relaxation use lavender or chamomile. For sore muscles use rosemary or eucalyptus. Be sure to dissolve some Epson or sea salts in your bath too.
2.In the home—use essential oils in a diffuser to freshen the air in your home. Orange is an uplifting and refreshing oil. Lavender and chamomile are very soothing.
3.On your body—add 1-2 drops to some olive or sesame oil and use as a massage oil. Rosemary or eucalyptus are good oils for this. Or add some peppermint to some unscented lotion and put on your tired feet after a long day. Tea Tree is a great anti-fungal oil and can be used on your feet or even for cleaning.
